Elements and Principles Slideshow

Pictures 3 and 4 illustrate shape, the gate has two triangles on it and the cups are the shape of circles.
Pictures 5 and 6 illustrate form the lion and the hand are both three dimensional shapes
Picutes 7 and 8 illustrate space the buildings are the objects and the ocean is the negative space and the deck illustrates the depth of the space.
Pictures 9 and 10 illustrate color both pictures have a variety of different colored flowers and plants.
Pictures 11 and 12 illustrate texture its as if you could feel the roughness of the tree and the smoothness of the lizard and the roughness of the coral and hardness of the shell of the sea creature.
Pictures 13 and 14 illustrate balance the two polar bears standing together makes the picture seem stable and the design of the building is symmetrical
Pictures 15 and 16 illustrate emphasis the viewers attention is brought right to the orange and white clown fish the the purple flower is emphasized in the other picture.
Pictures 17 and 18 illustrate movement the different hieghts of the water show moves the viewers eyes across the picture and the sailboat position illustrates its movement
Pictures 19 and 20 illustrate pattern both the butterflies have the same patterns on each wing
Picture 21 illustrates repetition the dock is designed with repeating triangles.
Picture 22 illustrates rhythm with the umbrellas creating a sense of movement.
Picture 23 illustrates variety it has several elements such as line, movement, repetition, and color.
Pictures 24 and 25 illustrate unity with the bunch of coconuts and the school of fish.
Picture 26 illustrates proportion the buildings and the stairs and the people in the picture are in proportion of one another.

  1. Lauren I really enjoyed watching your slideshow, I liked that you put several examples of each element and principle, instead of the expected few. I like how you focused your pictures on nature and the great outdoors. My two favorites were the dock that illustrated line, and the cups full of something delicious representing shape. I think you represented the elements and principles very successfully.
