A.) Which artworks make an impact or impression on me? Why?
1.Nana ca by Niki de Saint Phalle, French 1930-2002, mixed media because it was of a larger woman, an imperfect body, because I believe there is no such thing as a perfect body. It also represented peace and love. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/004.jpg
2. Untitled by Fred Sandback, American 1943-2003, red acrylic yarn because it had a "less is more" effect and I believe that is a good motto to live by in most cases. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/009.jpg
3. Sailor with Guitar by Jacques Lipchitz, French 1891-1973, Bronze because it reminded me of a character from a short film in a pixar movie. It brought me back to my childhood and reminded me of the innocence of a child. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/012.jpg
B.) Which artworks do I feel a connection with? Why?
1. Untitled, Nancy Rubins, steel. This was a sculpture right out side of the gallery with the row boats. I connected it because I grew up on Grand Island surrounded by the river, throughout my life up until now I have been active in water activities. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/002.jpg
2. L'Ambitieuse by James Jaques Joeph Tissot, french 1836-1902, oil on canvas because it is of the Victorian days right after the Civil War, in which I have done many studies on such as the rapid expansion westward, immigration, industrialization, and modernization and am very interested in.

3.The Marvelous Sauce by Jehan Georges Vibert, French 1840-1902, oil on wood panel because it reminds me of my grandmother's sauce. It also reminds me of my father and I cooking together. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/019.jpg
C.) Which artworks would I like to know more about? Why?
Tanktotem IV by David Smith, 1953, steel I would like to know more about what it reprentsents is it suppose to be a person? http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/003.jpg
2.Jackob/ Big Psycho by Erwin Wurm, aluminum and paint this scuplture confuses me but it also makes me think I would like to know what the artists thoughts were in creating this and what he intended his audience to think. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/005.jpg
3.Working drawing/ maquette for look and see by jim Hodges, reflective mylar and paper, it didnt say what the outside sculpture was made of but what I would like to know is if the tree was intended to be incorporated in the piece because I think it makes it much more enjoable to look at. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc366/mcgowalm01/027.jpg
I too chose some of the same art work you chose to discuss, such as The Marvelous Sauce, and Nancy Rubins's sculpture of canoes. Your descriptions/thoughts are short, but get to the point, and they help me to see where you're coming from. It's interesting how some of the pieces we both chose have completely different outlooks or relations to the pieces.
