1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above.
I selected Hockney on Photography because I myself like photography the best and I chose Andy Warhol: Image of an Image because I was familiar with the name Andy Warhol but I forgot what works he was known for.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
The key concept of Hockney on Photography is that photography is only the chemically invention of how to put the image on the on a flat surface and that the camera is older than photography. The key concept of Andy Warhol: Images of an Image is the immense power images have acquired in our society.
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
Hockney on Photography relates to the text in that they explain how photography resembles painting. Andy Warhol: Images of an Image relates to the text explain how he was a gifted commercial artist.
4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
Hockney on Photography adds depth to my understanding of photography and how photographic images create masterpieces. Andy Warhol: Images of an Image added depth to my understanding of repeated images as works of art.
